At our block party on May 1st, we will be turning Compost for Brooklyn’s fence into a work of art. As shown in the picture, artists of all ages will weave plastic bags in to the fence in color order. It is going to be beautiful and so much fun to make!
To make this project happen, we’re going to need LOTS of plastic bags! Next time you drop off your compost, bring along any plastic bags you have around. Big ones, small ones, colorful ones, boring ones..this is the perfect opportunity to get rid of that stash of bags in your kitchen.
Compost for Brooklyn volunteer and artist Rachel Schragis will be organizing this project. Check back for opportunities to help her prepare.
Please note: We are only collecting clean bags.
